Communications/Marketing Job Description

Purpose: The Communications/Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating NLGH’s communication material including newsletters, press releases, direct mail appeals, and other publications. This person will also maintain an up-to-date website and social media presence for NLGH. Working closely with the Director, the Communications Coordinator will assist in stewardship and event planning, as well as general administrative duties.

Reports to: Director of Vision and Ministry

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create Communication Material

  • Execute, design, print, and deliver communication materials
  • Produce monthly newsletters
  • Send newsletters and appeals by email using Mail Chimp


  • Create, execute, and manage press releases
  • Identify new marketing channels for partnership development
  • Maintain email lists through Silent Partner and Mail Chimp

Support Fundraising Activities

  • Create stewardship/thank you letters
  • Create printed material for events (i.e. invitations, posters, etc.)
  • Produce promotional flyers, announcements, and brochures

Maintain up-to-date Website/FB and other social media tools

  • Update banner and post regularly
  • Manage active social media presence

Internal Communications

  • Read staff monthly reports to capture ‘stories’
  • Equip staff and maintain strong corporate branding


  • Data Base coordination
  • General administrative duties
