“Do your little bit of good where you are;
it’s those little bits of good that overwhelm the world.”
– Desmond Tutu

Wannamaker Sausage Drive: To date we have sold over $700 worth of sausages. Each box has 5lbs of either Honey Garlic, Farmer’s Sausage, Bratwurst, or Mild Italian. We still have a few boxes left if anyone’s interested!

Picton Craft Sale: Our ladies prepared and served a lovely summer salad lunch plate. Our financial total was $600, but spreading awareness for New Life Girls’ Home… Priceless!

Run. Walk. Bike.: We look forward to this fundraiser every year! To be able to have fun right here at NLGH and get the community involved is awesome. This year was our 10th Annual R.W.B., and we raised $9,867.66. Who thought you could have so much fun running?!

Free Flow Gas Station: Every year Free Flow in Carrying Place organizes a customer appreciation day, simultaneously raising money for a local charity. This year, they chose to support NLGH and invited us to set up a table and help pump gas. $565 was raised and much more awareness was brought to the
community about NLGH.

Garage Sale at Trenton Ebenezer CRC: With much help from our partners at Ebenezer CRC, we sold close to $1500 worth of new and used items! Many donations were dropped off at NLGH and Ebenezer in the weeks prior. Items that were not sold were donated to Bibles for Missions in Trenton and the Trenton Treasure Chest. Many thanks to Alice and Lambert Veltman, and the entire Ebenezer church family.

Swing Under the Wings: Uniquely Yours Event Planners organized at mystery dinner at the National Airforce Museum of Canada in Trenton. The evening even had its mystery theatre actors in full World War II costumes! Funds and food donations were collected in support of NLGH.

From banger and mash, a full tank of gas, lunch in Picton, a garage sale in Trenton, and a thrilling mystery dinner at the Airforce Museum, our dollars spent was little compared to the immense exposure that our community charity events have bought us.

Student Success:

Rachel De Coning Five years ago, a very quiet, introverted, lovely young woman walked into NLGH with a desire for change in her life. Rachel came from the London area. Her family was supportive and sought
God’s will. Rachel struggled with issues stemming from being bullied as a child, along with other, personal conflicts. Rachel was a professional hair-stylist with a growing career, a caring family, and a loving fiancé.

Rachel and Dylan on their wedding day. From the outside looking in, it seemed like she had it all, but Rachel knew that she needed help! From the beginning, Rachel was determined to work hard in the program and get down to business with God. It was finally time to deal with her self-destructive behaviours. Through many months of tears, the Word of God, Biblically sound teaching, and numerous life application tools, she graduated from the program at NLGH.

Rachel, Dylan and  their new baby girl. Her fiancé, Dylan, stood by her through it all, and a few months after Rachel graduated they were married. Five years later, Rachel and Dylan are enjoying  being parents to their brand new baby girl! We always love to hear from past grads on how God continues to work in their lives.
