Designer Dinner update

Thank you to the great number of supporters that came out to our Designer Dinner at Ebenezer CRC Trenton. Along with wonderful food and fellowship we revealed our future plans and reasons for these plans. For those that couldn’t make it here is a little bit of what was discussed.

Pastor Luke Vanderkamp (Board Chair) facilitated the meeting. We shared some of the challenges facing the home over the past number of years and in particular over the last six months. Dawn Bailey-Elbourne shared her vision for New Life Girls Home and we had a Q and A period and a time of prayer.

Dawn’s Vision for NLGH is: Modernize and Energize: The modernization covers many things from better systems to a quality, sustainable facility for our ladies. The Energizing come from the continuing Power of the Holy Spirit that leads our decisions and lifestyle. Ephesians 5:18.

There are three main areas that we will focus on:

1 Facility - Dawn proposed we sell 112 Edward Drive, thus allowing us to be debt free and build or buy closer to an urban setting.

2 Finances- When we reopen we will have a plan in place to make the home financially sustainable through greater networking, partnerships and creative fundraising.

3 Program- We will be adding a continuing Education component. Our Bible teaching, ministry, arts and community service days will not change.

In order to accomplish these goals we would appreciate your continued support and ask you to consider how you may be able to get involved on the board, one of our teams or even recommend someone you know. Below you will find a description of what our needs are and the skills required.

Your prayers are most coveted during this time of intermission.
